The R G Casey Building is situated a short distance from Parliament House in Barton, in the Australian Capital Territory. One of the most prestigious buildings in the Parliamentary triangle, the R G Casey Building was custom built for a government department in 1995.

IKW Consulting Group completed overseeing the massive floor covering refurbishment of the building, which was undertaken over more than 40 weeks.

IKW Consulting Group are the floor covering consultants for Centrelink (now Department of Human Services) nationally.

Services IKW supply to DHS include:

Reviewing the current floor coverings used by DHS and offering recommendations for future products and installation procedures;
Supplying sampling of potential new products;
Writing DHS’s carpet/carpet tile supply and installation specifications and tender documents;
Reviewing tenders from suppliers;
Inspecting DHS offices nationally and providing recommendations regarding maintenance and performance of the floor coverings;
Inspecting DHS offices nationally to ensure installation conformity to Australian Standards;
Offering environmental information to ensure DHS are up-to-date on GBCA requirements and ensuring the most environmentally sustainable products are used wherever possible;
Ensuring all products and materials used are low in VOC’s;
Project managing installations on behalf of DHS;
Day-to-day consultancy relating to all floor covering matters;
Moisture testing subfloors where required prior to the installation of new floor coverings.
